Coordinator notes: Hi Char, How were the butterflies out your way this year? You can submit current year photos of one you have recorded in the past but may be you didn't see a lot of them this season? Your suggested ID is correct. Kind of a late record. This is a female and they live a long time because they aestivate before laying their eggs into later summer. With the cold weather we had earlier, this is a good example of how tough these butterflies are (and others as well). Pigmy blue in my backyard yesterday and several days earlier. Take care, Mike
