Swarthy Skipper
Nastra lherminier

Observation date: May 17, 2020
Submitted by: ncrosbyrd
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Hard to photograph this skipper as it wanted to stay down in the grass. We did note a more brown color than Swarthy and viens were the same color as the brown so wondered if this just might be a neamathla as opposed to swarthy which usually has paler viens. It was in a wet area with blue stem grasses so could possibly be either. Have to work to get better photos next time for sure!
Status: Resident
