Observation notes: Distinctive short tail, light brown streaks on ventral hindwing, and tiny spots on same point to Mexican Yellow. Though I wasn't able to photograph it with wings open, the yellow on the top edge of the dorsal hind wings, and black on upper forewings was also obvious.
