Observation notes: Today along the creek at Elfin Forest there were literally dozens of Admirals patrolling the creekside and nearby riparian plants, perching in Oaks, Manroot vine, and anything else available. They were chasing each other and the occasional White that strayed too close to their turf. They largely chose to perch 3 meters or more above the ground, but would rarely come down lower. I observed for about 30 minutes, seeing up to seven individuals flying at one time, but too far for good photographs. The midday sun was warm and there was little breeze. One individual was observed mud-puddling and I captured that image.
