Diana Fritillary
Speyeria diana

Observation date: August 16, 2023
Submitted by: Cascade Colors
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I saw many of these back in June, so I'm surprised there are still a few around. I'm also worried/concerned (and disappointed!) that I haven't seen a single female all summer; I've only seen males.
Status: Resident

Coordinator notes: Apparently the females favor more being in the forest, finding flowers on edge of forests or in forest glades. Also please note I'm working on your other submissions. Some of them I need to ident thru books better, as well as one is a subspecies I need to decide on. Thank you! JAMES STEEN
