Observation notes: This butterfly was reared in an enclosure and belonged to a batch of 14 eggs found on a parsley plant. After only 11 days in its chrysalis it eclosed and it was a big surprise as I had never seen one like this or knew they existed. The rest of the butterflies from the group were "regular" black swallowtails.
