Observation notes: - brown and orange butterfly with white spots in the corner of the wings
- Only one butterfly of this species
- was resting on the ground for a few minutes
- seemed to be calm flapping its wings consistently
- weather was a bit lower than 70 F degrees
- was a few miles away from the ocean and the air was a bit colder
