Coordinator notes: P. roseicapitis instars have black-tipped dorsal tufts, which this sighting doesn't. Also, I don't see a lot of reliable sightings of P. roseicapitis in New Mexico. MPG lists a few sightings on the AZ-Mexico border, several hundred miles from Eddy County (but in the same latitude); BAMONA lists some documented sightings (with photos) in AZ, and some historical sightings in NM, TX and elsewhere which unfortunately don't have accompanying photographs. To me this looks much more like the widely-distributed Virginian Tiger Moth. No doubt other coordinators will chime in if I'm wrong.
