Subfamily: Thyridinae
Identification: Wings blackish with inconspicuous orange spots. Note round, translucent whitish spot in median area of forewing. Two other spots close together on hindwing.
Wing Span: 1.2-1.5 cm.
Life History:
Flight: May-September.
Caterpillar Hosts: Clematis and Houstonia species.

Range: Quebec to North Carolina, west to Kansas and Mississippi.
