Observation date: July 05, 2012
Submitted by: Billfish
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Extremely common in forest openings during daylight hours, feeding on wildflowers and "puddling" in wet earth near roadsides. Four to five individuals in our campsite at one moment. These densities were not a site-specific phenomenon, as I saw similar numbers whenever I looked, in a 20 mile radius over a 3 day period.

Coordinator notes: As far as I can tell the hindwing markings on your specimen are correct for subhastata. Thank you for your sighting!
