Observation notes: Strange behavior. Take this for what it's worth, but I'm just submitting this as I am wondering if anyone has ever observed a behavior like this. I was entering my apartment last night, and this little guy flew in. I tried to catch it so I could put him back outside, and he started flying like crazy around the room. The ceiling fan was on, and spinning at a decent pace. The moth flew up to the fan and started flying in tight circles underneath it, going faster and faster and getting closer and closer to it. Before long, it had synced up with the fan's speed. All of a sudden, the moth flew right up through the fan blades and disappeared. On a hunch, I decided to turn the fan off and when it finally slowed to a halt, I climbed up on the ottoman and saw the little guy just chilling on the backside of one of the fan blades. He had landed on the blade... while it was moving. He was completely uninjured, and proceeded to fly around the apartment again until I could get him outside. Personally, I thought it was pretty crazy.

Coordinator notes: Moth may have got caught in the circulation of the air around the fan, then lighted once above it. Or if there was a light in the center of the fan, or near it, that could be a reason.
