Virginian Tiger Moth or Yellow Woolybear Moth
Spilosoma virginica

Observation date: May 12, 2019
Submitted by: Daffodilfairy68
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Found on my bird of paradise plant. Had recently laid eggs.
Status: Resident
Verified by: jasondroberts
Verified date: June 09, 2019
Coordinator notes: I caution that identifying this specimen without seeing the abdomen is a little risky, but the white tarsi with black banding (that isn't just restricted to the lateral portion of the tarsi) is a strong indication of S. virginica.
