Coordinator notes: There are problems here with subspecies sterope, whether it is a palla or an acastus. In either case, I do not know which entity you have, Andrew Warren's book on Oregon discusses these issues in detail. But looking at your photo, this seems to be a Northern Checkerspot photo, allowing for how these issues were resolved and where your checkerspot came from.-Ken Davenport
