Observation notes: This Gray Hairstreak was one of only two seen in a roadside wildflower prairie (about 1/4 acre) full of pink blooming checker mallow, off Finley Refuge Road, near Turtle Flats. When it landed, It didn't appear to be feeding, but was resting & rubbing it's hind wings together. The photo'd hairstreak had a gray abdomen, so it was female.
