Orange Sulphur
Colias eurytheme

Observation date: September 17, 2021
Submitted by: Cascade Colors
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: This looks exactly like a few of the Clouded Sulphur images in your system; however I am unclear what the main distinguishing features are between it and the Orange Sulphur, since some Orange Sulphurs can look very much like this.
Status: Resident

Verified date: November 20, 2021
Coordinator notes: You can see from your photo there is a very "orange" color to the underside and such orange always means the Orange Sulphur (aka Alfalfa Butterfly). The Clouded Sulphur will always be very yellow looking than eurytheme on the underside (especially the forewings, and upperside too), and rarely otherwise. Mike
