Observation notes: The butterfly was perched on a Lonicera Heckrotti (Honeysuckle) vine adjacent to a home in a residential neighborhood in Memphis, TN. There were a few blossoms on the vine. In the vicinity are Butterfly Weed (Aesclepias tuberosa), white and purple/blue flowering Sage (Salvia 'Victoria White' and 'Mystic Blue Spires'), Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea with fading blooms). After days of extreme heat, including 102 degrees on 8.26.23, there was rain overnight and the temperature was 80 degrees at siting. Still humid, light rain may occur again. A few very light sprikles were detected.
