Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Second Monarch female I've seen here in August. A third showed up in mid-July. All of them went for the Swamp milkweed which now has some nice cover with Cowpen Daisies and other natives growing up in and around them. Both Aug females left lots of eggs so surely we should have at least a few to join the migration to Old Mexico.
Status: Temporary Colonist

Coordinator notes: The more common milkweed is probably losing nutrition this time of the year (well past bloom...I presume you have some of that growing too) so your available alternative milkweed in better condition is attracting them. Mike
