Observation notes: Host, Rosa woodsii. One 4-ft-long defoliated rose branch; 6 caterpillars still on other branches. Photos by Matt Bartmann, with whom I live here at 8100 ft in the Colorado Rockies; Larimer County, CO. Severe drought here this spring/summer; also a huge wildfire was nearby several wks ago, the High Park Fire June/July 2012.
