Observation notes: Very actively and quickly flying all around us, only momentarily landing a few times before settling on this toe. Presumably sipping salty sweat! Could see the proboscis wandering around on the human skin. Sunny, 80 degrees F (air temp), and more than 1/2 way through a 2 hour hike.
