Observation notes: Habitat: mixed pine-hardwoods / upland creek bottom hardwoods near small spring-water stream, some few young cane plants around. Three pearly-eye type butterflies noticed at a spot along Rock Falls Nature Trail a fair distance upstream from the falls (exact location hard to pinpoint on map, but approx. location shown is close), Sicily Island Hills WMA. The one photographed was only one we got a good look at. Conditions: warm, variable sky, occasional light breeze.
