Observation notes: This butterfly was observed flying and perching on the edge of wet, marshy meadow. It was not feeding. Two other apparent members of this species were observed in the immediate area (one of these was photographed and also submitted). All three had some interaction, but no mating was observed. There was a very shallow puddle of water in an adjacent ditch they may have been using along with other species of butterflies, but this was not directly observed. The weather was very warm and sunny.
