Observation notes: Photo was taken alongside the creek which was reduced to a tiny trickle of water between Forest Rd 73 & a meadow opening. When disturbed by photographer it was observed in flight several times. The upper wing color was orange. Thicket Hairstreak was observed at the same location with blue gray upper wing color when in flight. Habitat was a conifer forest with creek in meadow crossing road. Forest Rd 73 is in Placer County & has a variety of habitat.
