Observation notes: I observed this caterpillar on a neighbor's frangipani plant on Oct. 28, 2016. It was unfamiliar to me. According to your website, they have not been sighted north of the Sarasota area of Central Florida. I am north of there; just over Tampa Bay, in south St. Petersburg, the southern part of Pinellas county. I observed three of them on two different frangipani plants on days 1 and 2 (Friday and Saturday), then on Sunday, two on the same frangipani plant and one had moved around the corner of the house to a hibiscus plant. As the frangipani's were already losing leaves, damage seemed negligible. I did not see any evidence of the hibiscus leaves actually being eaten. The weather had been warm (mid 80's) and dry for the previous 2 weeks.
