Observation notes: Caterpillars were on the trunk of a young balsam tree. Nearby, there is draceana, but no caterpillars were on it. They appeared to be acting in the manner of a processionary caterpillar. They did not appear to be aggressive. They did not appear to be eating. These were found on the Pacific coast side of the Azuero Peninsula, in Panama, Central America at about 200 feet above sea level in second growth forest.
