Observation notes: I was leaving Sunken Meadow State Par, and as I was approaching the parking lot, I saw this caterpillar dangling from a tree. I observed ti fro quite a while as it inched it s way up a silken line. I watched until it was near the leaves. I wasn't sure if it was in harm since I never saw one before and am glad, that I did not touch it (since I almost intervened). I read that it hairy self can release toxins that cause skin rashes. I also wish to know if that caterpillar made the silk line since I then began to worry that it might have been a spider web. ** You can see the line in the photo that I submitted
