Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: The butterfly was found at William F. Lede park in Leduc, Alberta. It was cold and clinging stiffly to a stick on the paved trail near thistles. Temperature was 4 degrees Celsius. The butterfly was brought indoors, warmed up and it began to walk around it's enclosure. It was fed an apple slice which it voracious devoured. It has been indoors for 3 days now and seems content to eat juice.
