Coordinator notes: This is a Oleander Hawkmoth, Daphnis nerii. Not a species of the US. I am assuming this came with the purchase of the tropical plant. If it was an adult that laid eggs on this plant, it must have come from a nursery. I don't see any records of it in the US. (Barb Sendelbach).
Barb is right, I'm sure, and I've seen one other sighting of D. nerii that was obviously an import, accidental or otherwise. Interesting sighting. Jim Rains
