Observation notes: Enormous fifth-instar Virginia Creeper Sphinx caterpillar, nearly two inches long and about a centimeter wide. Feeding on a grapevine that was growing on a Spicebush plant. An Eight-Spotted Forester caterpillar was feeding nearby.
