Observation notes: I've been seeing this vagrant Afro-Asian species of moth around my house since 2007. On July 21, 2018, I captured one while it rested on an azalea, and I photographed it on my hand and on an azalea leaf. The location was in my Culver City, CA, backyard at Lat, Lon = 33.995064, -118.386443
It was described in News of the Lepidopterists' Society, Volume 50, Number 3,4 in late 2008. I usually see this adult moth starting in March, during a hot spell, and their numbers peak around June and July.
