Glover's Silkmoth
Hyalophora gloveri

Observation date: August 03, 2018
Submitted by: A_baldini (Russ Bjorlie)
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Time: ~11:00 a.m. Weather: Overcast, with the temperature in the 60's. Habitat: Gravel road in the foothills. Notes: This caterpillar was crawling across the road (maybe fully grown and looking for a place to pupate?), and was not near any plants. It's obviously not a Cecropia Moth caterpillar because of range and habitat, and I suspect that the Glover's Silkmoth has always been the predominant Hyalophora moth in Colorado, even when it was a subspecies of H. columbia.
