Observation notes: In a small, protected, but somewhat sunny canyon, I spotted this diminutive buckeye on a warm, early afternoon. This specimen was noticeably smaller than the Buckeye I reported on June 19th in a location location several hundred yards away. Its behavior was similar and it flitted about in brief busts, before landing on the drying out plants and remaining still for a minute or more with wings folded.
