Wild Indigo Duskywing
Erynnis baptisiae

Observation date: July 22, 2019
Submitted by: WINGSaloftinKS
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I'll have to pay closer attention to the trees and grasses near this area, because I always see these same kind of duskywings in this exact same area of the dog park, around the same 10' area, of the same path, almost every time we go (and there are quite a few paths on quite a few acres there). I know there are some elms, tall grasses, wild oats and milkweed in a meadow adjacent to one side of the path, and clover on the path. Very dark in color, moved about on the clover blossom for about a minute, then would fly over to another one. Wingspan: Approx. 1.25-1.5" Weather: Perfect 80 degrees, 50% humidity, light breezes.
