Observation notes: On a dry brushy hillside dotted with Cliff Aster plants, I spotted a yellow butterfly at a distance of 20 to 30 feet. It appeared to be a greenish-yellow hue with a wash of true yellow, mid-ventral forewing. In the upper center of this yellow portion is a black spot with a white center. On the ventral hindwing is a larger white spot, centrally located, that appears to have a reddish border and a smudge of red near the body. The shots weres not clear enough to show the finer details. The forward tip of the forewing is damaged.
