Observation notes: On first glance I thought this was a gray hairstreak, but when I looked more closely I noticed that the dashed line on the forewing was entirely white, without the black that the gray hairstreaks usually have. And then I realized it also seemed to have the zigzag M shape on the hindwing. It was sitting on Japanese knotweed on a pleasant, sunny morning.
