Observation notes: Bright sunny day, calm. The butterfly species is resting upon a flower that appears to be: "Spendid Dasiy" - Erigeron eximius, Several Carex species nearby.
Location approximately 20-meters from intermittent stream, flowing slowly at this time, that is a Beaver managed habitat. GPS coordinates: N 40.73537, W -105.53607.

Coordinator notes: The Garita Skipperling....a nice freshly emerged female. You might find the Two-spotted Skipper (E. bimacula) in the Fort Collins area between I-25 and the foothills in sedgy wetlands in late June and early July. It is a much larger, dark skipper but you won't find the Two-spotted in the mountains. The hindwings are marked in a similar fashion as Garita so I can understand why you thought it might be the Two-spotted Skipper. Mike
