Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: This moth came to the house lights, or actually my overhead garage door next to the light. When I attempted to view the hindwing, it dropped to the ground and began a frenzy flight. The abdomen is much wider than other expected AZ Euchaetes (E. zella, E. polingi) and was a bit larger. The hindwings are very dark gray. The gray in the subterminal area of the forewing is a bit lighter than the median area.
