Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Reared from Smilax rotundifolia. Found window-mining the underside of a leaf on 10/18. In captivity with two leaves, the larva loosely attached the leaves and fed between them. Some frass was caught in the silk holding the leaves together, the rest was strewn about its feeding area with seemingly no pattern. It spun a mesh cocoon on the underside of a leaf on 10/20. The adult emerged 11/5. The pupa turned dark the day before eclosion.

Coordinator notes: Not much sighting data around but given Mr. Irvine's excellent documentation this sp. is undoubtedly resident in RI.
