Date notes: Found dead on a moss-covered road in Draper, Pulaski County, Virginia. Small butterfly (antennae thin & wiry) body and wings brilliant blue on dorsal side and light brown on ventral side.

Observation notes: First time sighted although have lived here and walked the land every day for 15 years. Found another one closer to my home. Both were newly dead. Day before was below freezing and 1.5 inches of snow had fallen overnight. Earlier in the week the weather was mild with 50-60 F at mid afternoon and above freezing at night.
