Coordinator notes: Although you can find the Hoary Comma on the plains near the foothills, the comma you often see in early summer is the Satyr (sometimes the Questionmark which is uncommon). This one is definitely that species...a female. You got a good photo of one as they tend to be nervous and difficult to approach. Mike
