Coordinator notes: With some reservation I ID the caterpillar as this tiger moth...it matches the photo in the Powell & Opler book "Moths of the Western North America" Plate 64 Fig. 13 (64.13). Should it be another for some reason, perhaps one of the moth experts on the BAMONA website will correct me. These caterpillar rest during the day and fee at night so it evidently was lounging in the mum and feeding on something else nearby...at least I don't think the mum is a host? Mike
