Observation notes: On Steens Rim at above 9000ft. 75F about. Feeling exclusively on Eriogonum ovalifolium var rubidum, ignoring other buckwheats. I'm aware that the usual sightings of E. baueri are mid/end May at the base of the Steens. I posted this on NorWestLeps and only Jon Pelham responded. He said these "should be" Bauer's based on that pretty much only they have ovalifolium as their host plant. He asked for pictures, I sent several, but then never heard back. Andy Warren (who likely has good knowledge of the area) did not respond. Here are more pix: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/132740176 https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/132740173 https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/132740172 https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/132740170 I really, really, really would like to know more. Even a "we don't know" would go a long way. Thanks for any input you can give.
