Observation notes: 2 Monarchs were enjoying the flowering Verbesina virginica (Frostweed). It was a mostly sunny late afternoon with temps in the mid-70’s (F). The Frostweed is growing on “Wildflower Hill”, which is on the ridge above the pocket prairie. We purchased this land to preserve the natural environment and have been working to eradicate invasives and incorporate native species while maintaining healthy natural habitats. So happy to see it working!
