Sighting 1354141
Observation date: April 14, 2023
Submitted by: dawittrock2231
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Near a floodlight on my deck. I am submitting two moths that I think are different species, both Pseudexentera. But I could be wrong and perhaps they are the same species, one just much more worn. Will be interested in your thoughts.

Coordinator notes: My preference is to have an ID given on either BG (verified not just placed) or by an expert on iNaturalist. Looking at the moths on iNaturalist which have been placed under the Pseudexentera spoliana as suggested IDs (currently 366) shows that just about any of the Pseudexentera moths are placed there. I then limited the search to just Research Grade and then looked for an ID by Mothvet (7 IDS). Just a cursory look at some of the other IDs were made by people with not much experience so I don't have that much confidence in those IDs. Here's a link to one of the moths IDed by Mothvet -- https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/154636039 It helps to have a side view of the moth, too. There are a few other experts on iNat who have identified this species but the numbers are low. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?place_id=any&quality_grade=research&taxon_id=229087&verifiable=any&view=identifiers You can kind of get an idea of their expertise by looking at their Profile page.
