Observation notes: It was a cool late morning in June, in the 70s, overcast, just rained overnight. It was 11:20. At first, from about 10 feet away, I thought it was a bumblebee by its size and movements, until I noticed it hovering like a hummingbird over different flowers. As I got closer, I thought it was a baby hummingbird. Then, I wasn't sure, because it's tail reminded me of a crawfish. Lol It continued to flit from flower to flower for about 3 total minutes in my Cheddar Pinks/Pink Dianthus garden. I got about a 1 minute video, and took several pictures with my cell phone. It was amazing! I finally looked it up and discovered I'd just seen a hummingbird mouth, which seems to be somewhat rare in Middle TN.
