Coordinator notes: You’re correct with the species name “california.” BAMONA hasn’t updated their database as of yet. If you want to get even more technical, Common Ringlets of the NE and Great Lakes are of the subspecies “inornata,” or the “Inornate Ringlet” as a common name. This hasn’t become as commonly known yet. Full scientific name: Coenonympha california ssp inornata. -jmgesell
