Observation notes: A total of five of these were seen on the Avon Park Air Force Range 14th annual NABA Butterfly Count. One on Willingham Rd, one on Kissimmee Rd, two on Oliver and one on Blood Rd. Found by all three butterfly count teams. All were on the wet roadsides nectaring on Spermacoce verticillata. We suspect they are using Mimosa quadrivalvis also seen in same areas. The spermacoce is also favored by Gray Hairstreaks as a nectar source.
