Observation notes: A humid threatening-rain day, this was in the early afternoon so I was surprised to see it still on the side of my house. It did not seem concerned about my finger near it but when I came back out 20 minutes later, it was gone. Area around house is forest (beech, oak, birch). It has 'horns' or bumps on its back which makes me wonder if this is really an apamea amputatrix.

Coordinator notes: The tufts are normal and a good clue for Apamea amputatrix.
