Observation notes: Sighting was at Mount Ashland in southwest Oregon. Single individual flew in and perched upside down. Green on body and base of wings, and size points to a green Hairstreak. Of the three species probable at this location, two would be at the end of their season. Sheridan's Green Hairstreak is most likely based on date but underwing pattern is unmarked tan instead of green with white markings. The butterfly never opened its wings after landing. Weather was clear with a temp in the mid 60's.
