Observation notes: 7/26/2023 I stopped by the Butterfly Garden at Tudek Park in State College, PA late this afternoon (~5:30 PM EDT). My objective was to try to spot any Monarch Butterflies that might be around to report to the Journey North web site. For at least 20 minutes there were numerous bees and Goldfinches, but no butterflies in sight. Eventually two Whites and this Red Admiral Butterfly showed up. It was nectaring on what I believe are some Liatris flowers. The various shots in my included photograph are all of that one same butterfly. Unfortunately, there were no Monarch Butterflies to report. At the time, the air temperature was 85°F, the dew point was 63°F, the humidity was 47%, there was a light 8 mph breeze blowing from the SSW, and the air pressure was 28.70 inches and slowly dropping with somewhat hazy skies overhead. - Tim
