Observation notes: Seen in open scrub / chapparal east of Denk Mtn, flying in short hops and staging on trail pavement or dry grasses. The day was sunny, slightly breezy in places and high 60's temp. Few other fliers about that day and none in the immediate vicinity. This was a good year for Buckeyes here in SD Co., but I've never seen them this late in the season.
